Itineraries, encounters, and landings: Monterosso Grana. A community in the mirror
Second screening of the documentary film series Itinerari, Incontri, Approdi (Itineraries, Encounters, Approaches) , curated by the Zaratan collective. The film being shown is Monterosso Grana. Una comunità allo specchio ( ) by Andrea Fantino and Elisa Dalmasso, produced by the Municipality of Monterosso Grana and MiCò APS, a Cuneo-based association that has been providing third-level reception for asylum seekers and refugees for years and is a leading promoter of awareness-raising and social promotion initiatives on the topic of migration.
The documentary recounts the arrival of a group of asylum seekers in a small mountain village, the fracture this change has created in the community, their encounters with others and different cultures, and the need to find work and a home to integrate into a local area and contribute to its growth.
This documentary tells the story of an experimental project carried out to promote the inclusion of migrants, but also of the general repopulation process of inland areas and those small communities that are growing again, despite many difficulties.
The screening will be introduced by Andrea Fantino and Claudio Naviglia and will be followed by a discussion with Elisa Dalmasso, psychologist and MiCò activist as well as co-director of the documentary, Elena Elia, psychologist and MiCò activist and Marzia Strumia of Agripiola Lou Porti and minority councillor in the municipality of Monterosso Grana
