INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY 2026

International Dance Day was established in 1982 at the initiative of UNESCO and is celebrated every April 29.

The event was born from the desire to engage dancers in site-specific performances that reach unusual locations around the city, bringing moments of beauty, lightheartedness, sharing, and inclusion, overcoming the barriers of traditional theater.

The Day is being held in Cuneo thanks to the collaboration between the "Maison de la Danse", the Genta Foundation, the Cuneo Hospital Foundation, LILT, the Industrial Foundation, and the S. Croce e Carle Hospital. The aim is to promote beauty, lightness, sharing, and inclusion through the universal language of movement and music.

Of particular note is the participation of the dance troupe made up of young people with Down syndrome, a symbol of the commitment to integration, the valorization of diversity, and the promotion of equal opportunities through dance as a privileged means of artistic and social expression.
