I Knew It – Suite for Cassandra

Cassandra is a prisoner, deported as a slave, awaiting death. In her final hours, she retraces the decline and fall of Troy, recalling a story that speaks to the present with disturbing clarity.
A seer condemned to disbelief, Cassandra foresaw the ruin, but her words were ignored and opposed by all, even her beloved father, King Priam. Hers is a condemnation that spans the centuries: knowing, seeing, understanding, without being able to change the course of events.
In an age that calls itself "evolved," we continue to practice the abominable art of war, masking its horror with reassuring expressions like "smart bombs," "holy war," "exporting democracy." As if the problem were not the deaths, the abuses, and the devastation, but the words with which we choose to describe them.

The show is a suite of music, movement, and words that gives voice to the unheard Cassandra, transforming her into a universal symbol of all denied truths, all ignored warnings, all wars announced and then endured.
A powerful and necessary work that interrogates myth to speak of today, staging collective responsibility in the face of violence, suppression, and silence.
