El Amor Brujo is an opera that reveals the essence of flamenco, not only through its musical language but also through its dramatic and symbolic intensity. Created as a ballet by Manuela de Falla, with a libretto based on the traditions and legends of Andalusian gypsy culture, it was first performed in 1915 at the Teatro Lara in Madrid.

Zarzuela is one of Spain's most fascinating musical genres because it combines classical music with elements of popular music. It originated in a hunting lodge built near a bramble field—in Spanish, zarzas, hence the namezarzuelas for the operas that began to be performed there.

José Ferrería Lobo – an opera and concert conductor, has performed in the most important concert halls and been invited to participate in prestigious international competitions. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as José Carreras, Fiorenza Cossotto, Katia Ricciarelli, Michel Lethiec, Adriano Jordão, Pascal Rogé, and Svetla Vassileva. He is the artistic director of Opera na Academia e na Cidade.

Ana Maria Pinto – soprano, teacher, composer, and producer, trained at the Porto Conservatory of Music. She specializes in oratorio and lied and has collaborated with conductors such as Cesário Costa, Marc Tardú, Lawrence Foster, and Joana Carneiro. She toured South Africa and Namibia dedicated to Schumann and Strauss. She played Cecilia in the film Casanova Variations, starring opposite John Malkovich.

Sofia Vaz Silva graduated in Theatre Singing from the Gaia Conservatory of Music. Founder of the Aeternus Cantabile group, dedicated to the promotion of vocal music, she has attended masterclasses with Fernanda Correia, Enza Ferrari, Starikova Petrivna, Brigitte Stradiot, and Lisa Herger. A teacher and coordinator of the Performance Production – Set Design, Costumes, and Accessories Course at the Porto Fashion School, she has implemented educational projects promoting opera as a tool for social transformation, including Opera a Scuola (Opera at School), aimed at young people with no musical training, and has collaborated in music and choral education at the João Gonçalves Zarco, integrating the National Arts Plan. Since 2021, she has collaborated with Opera na Academia e na Cidade (Opera in the Academy and City) on the management and production of operas, symphonic concerts, chamber music, and educational projects, and is developing skills as a stage director.

Francisca Durãobegan, she performed as a dancer and choreographer in various shows and flamenco tablaos, while simultaneously developing her career as a ballet, flamenco, and Argentine tango teacher. After 13 years in the Argentine capital, she continues to teach at various academies in northern Portugal. She performs as a dancer in various shows of her own creations and is a member of the Sabor Latino dance troupe.
