A symbolic moment of memory and light in Cuneo
On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Duccio Galimberti (30 April 1906), the Municipality of Cuneo is organising a commemorative event aimed at remembering the historical and civil contribution of the partisan and lawyer from Cuneo.
The initiative, which will take place on the evening of April 30th at 9:00 PM in Piazza Galimberti, involves 120 people, each of whom will receive a light to be turned on simultaneously to form the number 120 in the center of the square. Individuals can apply to serve as torchbearers. The event will be open to the public, and everyone is invited to attend, even if only as a spectator, to share in this gesture of collective remembrance.
"Celebrating the 120th anniversary of Duccio Galimberti's birth means recognizing and perpetuating the values of freedom, justice, and civic participation that guided his life. This symbolic moment allows us to feel part of a community that preserves the memory and principles of those who fought for the common good,"say Mayor Patrizia Manassero and Councilor for Culture Cristina Clerico. "Directly involving people, by turning on the lights together, is also a concrete way to convey to new generations the importance of historical memory and civic duty. Each light represents a shared commitment to building a more aware and cohesive community."
