READERS ON THE MOVE > One library, many ways to read.
Coinciding with the inauguration ceremony, a symbolic procession of readers will depart from the historic Civic Library on Via Cacciatori delle Alpi – fifteen groups representing as many types of readers: from Night Owls, who usually fall asleep with a book in hand, to Commuters, who always have their noses in the pages of a train. This procession will accompany the transfer of the last books to the new library where the final delivery of the volumes will take place. The parade , coordinated and dramatized by Dispari Teatro with the accompaniment of the Wanna Gonna Show marching band , will symbolically mark the transition from the old to the new headquarters of the Civic Library.

LIBRARIES BEFORE ALEXANDRIA: PUBLIC AND PRIVATE MANUSCRIPT COLLECTION IN ANCIENT EGYPT.
Christian Greco retraces the history of libraries in ancient Egypt, from collections linked to temples and palaces to private libraries, questioning the modern distinction between archives and libraries. Through manuscripts and the figures who collected and transmitted them, a conception of the library emerges as a place of conservation, production, and transmission of memory and knowledge.

Having grown up with Kalafro, the two artists now blend Kento 's lyrical power and civic engagement with Mad Simon 's eclectic production . The result of this union is a live set with a high emotional and political impact, in which music becomes a tool for struggle, social protest, and collective storytelling. This is the final concert of the rap writing workshop held as part of the Young Based Community project. SARAFINE – DJ Set
SARAFINE takes the decks and leads us into an unmistakable world of sound, a set that is a true performance, between sharp beats and avant-garde moments. Sara Sorrenti, aka SARAFINE, is a Calabrian singer-songwriter and producer. After an initial career as a folk singer and guitarist, she lived for many years between Belgium and Luxembourg, where her style evolved, becoming influenced by the electronic sounds typical of Northern Europe. Her sound is an original blend of Dubstep, Techno, Trap, and Pop, while her lyrics oscillate between irony and disillusionment, offering a lucid and personal vision of the world: raw music, but a rawness that is healthy. In 2023, she won the edition of X Factor Italy with the song Malati di Gioia, winning over audiences and critics alike. On December 6, 2024, she released her first EP, Un trauma è per sempre.

A literature teacher at a high school in Milan, Stefano Fava has chosen social media to teach a more conscious, rich, and curious use of words. Born with his students in mind, the project quickly gained a much wider audience. On the Instagram page @piuscuolanellavita, through short reels, irony, and etymology, Fava invites everyone to rediscover the beauty of the Italian language and the pleasure of learning about its infinite nuances. A winning formula, now featured in the book La soffitta delle parole (The Attic of Words, UTET, 2026): a journey through the hidden and forgotten treasures of our language. Cuneo, 1956. Under the harsh backdrop of the Alps, the tranquility of the province is shattered by a crime that shakes the entire city: the magician Eula, a shady and feared figure, is found dead in his villa on Viale degli Angeli. THE GIRLS OF TUNIS
Tunis, 1959-1961. The Brancata family, of Sicilian origin, live in the cosmopolitan city: Maria, a proud thirty-eight-year-old, raises her three daughters alone while her husband works in the fields. The approach of Tunisian independence brings farewells, fears, but also love, secrets, and new stories in a vivid and moving novel. Today, the Santa Croce complex is being reborn as the beating cultural heart of the city. Behind the architecture, however, lies a centuries-old history steeped in faith and humanity. The work of Piero Camilla, as well as the documents preserved in the Diocesan Archives of Cuneo-Fossano and the State Archives of Cuneo, tell the story of a “complex of piety” that profoundly influenced the religious, economic, and social fabric of Cuneo. The round table discussion aims to take stock of what has already been said; but also of what can be said about a part of the city steeped in memory.

PRESENTATION of the EXHIBITION Anatomy of a Gaze. Inside the Soul of the Hospital.
Over the course of over six months of work within the walls of the Santa Croce e Carle Hospital in Cuneo, the author Marco Sasia has collected more than six thousand images. His lens reveals the invisible beauty of everyday gestures, immortalizing moments in which the fragility of those who suffer intersects with the dedication of those who welcome them.
The exhibition, the result of the synergy between the Hospital Foundation, the Hospital Trust, and the Municipality of Cuneo, paints a collective portrait of an extraordinary community of over 3,200 people: a gift of profound gratitude for those who, every day, transform care into an authentic human relationship.

A short, still musical based on the novel of the same name by Roddy Doyle.

Poop on your shoe.” This is the story of a man who is about to step on a large piece of poop, of seagulls who hate fish, of talking dogs. This is the story of boring crackers and delicious cookies. But it's also the story of great chases, of very nice children and of course... It's the story of the Ridarellis. A crazy and breathtaking story, hilarious songs and lots of fun. BAD TEACHER
Bertrand Russell is a symbol of free and progressive thought of the twentieth century. He was one of the greatest logicians and philosophers of the century, and won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1950. He founded an alternative school for children, and popularized science and philosophy in an inimitable manner. He fought against religion and superstition, and in favor of free love and open marriages. A great “immoral” thinker of the twentieth century, he addressed the thorniest issues of our time. He was imprisoned twice for pacifism: the second time, at ninety years old! He established a tribunal against US war crimes in Vietnam. And at ninety-eight, two days before his death, he launched a final appeal against Israel's war crimes in Palestine. He is considered a “bad teacher” by all the Pharisees, past and present. Piergiorgio Odifreddi presents Bad Master (Raffaello Cortina Editore, 2026) in conversation with Raffaele Riba.

BALABEATZ > Final Show
The universe of Kanazoé Orkestra was born from the encounter between the profound Mandinka tradition of West Africa and the European music scene. Internationally recognized since their first album, “Miriya” – awarded as the best African album of 2016 – and confirmed by years of international tours following their subsequent albums “Tolonso” and “Folikadi”, the band led by master griot Seydou Diabaté continues to evolve their sonic language. Their new project, "Balabeatz," represents the pinnacle of this research: a work in which the ancestral spirituality of the balafon and griot storytelling intertwine with the electronic rhythms and urban sounds of Nigeria and South Africa. With virtuosity, hypnotic grooves, and powerful socially conscious messages, Kanazoé Orkestra deliver a soundscape , connecting Africa's roots with a global audience.

BORDO#1
by John Blond.
Bordo#1 inaugurated the Esseci – sclab exhibition program with the work of John Blond, a young artist whose research is born from the encounter with places, people, and communities. A contemporary language that crosses disciplines and contexts, contaminating and transforming itself each time it encounters new territory.
The edge thus becomes a creative space: not a limit, but a threshold where languages, identities, and perspectives interact and can generate new possibilities. The site-specific work created for sclab fits into this process as a gesture of regeneration, capable of transforming a passageway into a place of encounter, expression, and participation.
Through works, photographs, words, and process materials, the exhibition presents an emerging artist and an idea of art as an open practice: a language that does not close, but opens; that does not simply occupy a space, but listens to it, interprets it, and helps transform it.

The result of the synergy between the Hospital Foundation, theHospital Trust and the Municipality of Cuneo, this exhibition paints a collective portrait of an extraordinary community of over 3,200 people: a gift of profound gratitude for those who, every day, transform care into an authentic human connection.
It can be visited starting from the opening days according to the times set out in the official program. The exhibition will then be open until November 15, 2026.
